Introduction

St. Columba’s School was established in 1941 and is a Christian Brothers Institution. Edmund Rice was the first Superior General of The Congregation of Christian Brothers which was formally founded in 1820. In modern times, there are about 1400 Christian Brothers in 28 countries world-wide. On the 6th of October, 1996, Edmund was beatified (declared Blessed).

The school is deeply committed to including a sense of social responsibility in its students. St. Columba’s School involves its students in social causes in the belief that society will only change when young people take on the onus of social transformation and are pro-active participants in the mechanism of change.

Admission Process: Guidelines for admission in St. Columba’s School are as follows:

St. Columba’s School, New Delhi, is a Private, Minority (Christian – Catholic), Non-Aided Educational Institution run by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in India.

The school is a KG to Class 12 Educational Institution. The school is affiliated to the CBSE Examination Board.

Admissions are made to following classes during the academic year:-

  • KG FOR 2017 (ONLY THOSE BORN BETWEEN 1/4/2012 TO 31/3/2013)
  • Classes 1 to 9 [ADMISSION DEPENDS ON VACANCIES]
  • Class XI [ADMISSION DEPENDS ON VACANCIES]

Application Forms

All application forms are to be filled and submitted online. A hard copy of the on-line application form is to be submitted to the school, with relevant documents as per the schedule given. Late submission of application forms will not be entertained. Original documents must be shown at the time of verification or the forms will not be accepted.

Admission Forms

Admission forms will be submitted by candidates selected for admission, with the required receipt of fees paid and all necessary documents by the date and time specified. Admission forms submitted thereafter for whatever reason shall not be entertained.

The selection for admission of students will be cancelled if:-

  • Admission forms are submitted with incomplete information and documents and non-payment of fees.
  • Complete Admission forms with process is not completed by the date and time specified.

Selection List / Waiting List

There shall be a Selection List and a Waiting list of candidates selected for KG admission.

The Department of Education, Government of Delhi, does generally not allow admissions to any class beyond the 31st July of the year.

General

The Principal’s decision in matters of admission is final. No person is authorised to seek admission on behalf of a child of whom he / she is not the legal guardian. Parents and Guardians are not to trust or believe in any person from the school or outside who claims to have influence on the selection of students for admission.

School Facilities: St. Columba’s School has Libraries, Computer Labs, Multimedia Labs, Chemistry Labs, Biology Labs, Physics Labs, Auditorium, Counseling Rooms and Medical Rooms.

Art Facilities: The School has clubs for Dramatics, Debates, Drums, Guitar, English Vocal Music, Cooking, Art & Crafts and Indian Vocal Music.

Sports Facilities: The School facilitates Cricket, Football, Basketball and Swimming. The school has a Basketball Court, Swimming Pool, Football/Cricket Ground and Badminton Court.

Transport Facilities: St. Columba’s School offers Bus facility.

Facilities for children with special needs: St. Columba’s School has a Learning Centre for children with special need. Children are taken out of regular class for about 35 minutes a day and helped to develop their abilities and prevent their inabilities from becoming disabilities.
