Kids & Teenagers are inexperienced & innocent so they don’t have much idea about how money is earned & how money should spend. So for Parents it is advisable that every parent should start teaching about money management to their kids at early age. So if Kids follow Money Management then it will become their habit & they will become good money manager in future. A lot of people graduate from college without any idea how to manage their money or balance their bank account. Maybe we were one of them. Now that we’ve learned more about managing our money right, we want to Help Our Kids not make the same mistakes. So here are 9 Tips to teach Kids about Money: Start with a Transparent Jar or Piggy Bank: The piggy bank is a great idea, but kids can’t see money in it so use a transparent jar. When Kids use a transparent jar, they see the money & can be encouraged to save more or like in how much time they can fill the jar. So parents should encourage them saving in a clear piggy. Kids follow what they watch so set an Example: Kids observe & follow their parents. If parents are slapping down plastic every time they go out for shopping grocery, clothes or for dinner etc, kids will notice this eventually. If, at month end parents do argument about money, kids will notice.  So all parents are suggested to set healthy examples in front of their kids as there is chance that Kids follow all these when they get older. Teach Kids that every stuff costs money: Parents should show and make the children understand and feel that anything in the world requires spending of hard earned money. So sometimes make them pay on their own for their requirements so that they can understand what spending of own money feels like. Teach Kids about opportunity cost: It’s just another way of telling kids that, “If you spent all money to buy this toy, then you won’t have the money to buy your favorite skates.” At younger age, kids should be able to weigh decisions and realize that each decision has a consequence and it’s a responsibility of every parent to realize & teach kids about spending of money. Give commissions, not allowances: Teach Kids to Earn: Parents should not give money easily for everything Kids demand instead of this parents should teach them how to earn. Like if Kids clean their room, taking trash out of home or any small work they can do for all these parents can give them reasonable amount or can say some commission for completing their task. It will help Kids that how money is earned – it’s not just given to them. Make Kids Responsible Bank Account Holder: For teenagers parents should open a simple Bank Account. Parents should let kids handle their bank account independently if they follow & understand above mentioned teachings. By managing a bank account teenager will understand money management & it will make them responsible & it will help them to manage & save more money easily in future. Teach Teenagers the Credit Cards Risks: When a teenager just turn adult they will get hounded by Credit Card Companies, these companies target College Students & show them lots of benefits like Card is Free for life time, can get lots of discounts on their purchase, can use in your hard time & many more types of other lucrative offers. So parents should teach them that having debt is bad idea & should have watch on expenditure of their teenagers & tell them in their bad time you are with them. So they can understand easily. Teach Kids that Money is Hard Earned asset & finite Resource: When kids see currency notes pop out of the ATM, they don’t realize that money is a finite resource. Explain that you work hard to earn money, and the bank is just a place that keeps it safe & money is limited. Make understand Kids to use money wisely & avoid unnecessary expenses. Teach Kids to Work within the budget: Parents should teach kids to always stay within the budget to develop that healthy habit. It prevents them from over spending and buy sensibly and take time in choosing the required one too. Make understand Kids to use money wisely & avoid unnecessary expenses. By teaching these simple habits parents can make their Kids good money manager & it will surely help Kids to understand how to Spend Money wisely.

When it comes to Safety of Kids, there can be no chances taken. A child needs to be taught ways to predict danger in an efficient yet simple way, which would make them more aware, instead of being panicked. Considering the age of a child and developmental level, the safety skills must be inculcated which one requires at that point in their life. Different Ways Adopted To Ensure A Kid`s Safety: Here are the most necessary tips to ensure Kid’s Safety  Demonstration to Teach: The best way to teach any skill is to demonstrate how it looks, and then practice it until the child can use it alone. A child should be allowed to speak up for themselves, otherwise if they are constantly dictated what to do, they might never be able to choose and fight their own battles.  A kid should be provided with examples and opportunities to portray a strong body language and a firm voice so that they can defend themselves. Suspicious Behaviour Recognition: A child should be taught to recognize suspicious behaviour. Instead of telling them to be scared of an unknown person and run away from them, a child must be taught to detect danger and uncanny situations. Instances like, a stranger offering candies, asking for directions, asking for personal information, showing inappropriate behavior; kids should be aware of such circumstances and never succumb to the given scenario. They should be taught to stay away from such strangers and never offer or accept any help from such people. When Kids are alone at Home: At home, a child should never be allowed to open the door. They should be under strict supervision of a professional, incase their parents aren`t home, and they should never be allowed to open doors and allow people inside, who are not their family members or relatives. Memorize Name, Contact Number & Address: At an early age a child should be taught to spell and write their full name and at least know the name of one parent. They must know their address and telephone numbers of their parents and emergency numbers like 9-1-1 or 1-0-0. Strangers Identification: A child must be taught to identify unknown people around them, and they shouldn`t be allowed to mix with strangers who act too friendly. Whether it is a girl or a boy, safety is meant for everyone, and they should be taught, not to trust any stranger blindly and avoid making any kind of physical contact. Quick Exit when in Danger: A child should be suggested that, if they ever feel they could be in danger, they must use the fear instinct and leave immediately. If their gut instinct strikes them that something is wrong and uncomfortable, they must exit without any delay and their parents must support their decision. Every parent fears danger and any kind of harm to their kids, especially considering the prevalent news and incidents. Thus, they should waste no time and teach their kids basic safety precautions from an early age itself. There really is no wrong time to start teaching kids about online safety, dangers around the house and how to deal with any situations that arise with strangers. The conversations and lessons should be ongoing, and the main agenda of a parent is to make their child aware and alert about uncanny situations.

School is a very important part of a child`s life, where kids get to learn and grow as distinguished individuals. But there is a huge difference between learning and studying; the latter is not as interesting as the former and there are times when kids start to fear studying, which is not a good sign. Thus, several new techniques can be introduced in schools and the education process, to make institutions a happy place for the students. Music helps to Learn Better: Music actually helps to learn better. If someone is struggling to remember dates, facts or figures, then they can set those facts in musical notes, which will make it much easier for remember. The phenomenon is just like remembering lyrics to songs, because the melody and rhymes help cement the words in one`s mind Posters & Images for Better Learning: Creating posters and summarising concepts on posters allows children to be more creative with their designs thus injecting some fun in the process of studying. It becomes easier for students to learn difficult concepts and also get the facts clear in their head. Videos & Interactive Learning Materials: The new generation kids have the wealth of study materials available on the internet. With a plethora of online courses and other web resources, and fun animated videos, students can tackle difficult concepts and subjects quiet easily. Multimedia information which includes, videos and quizzes in addition to straightforward text, helps students absorb information more easily than text books. It also makes the process more enjoyable by breaking up the monotony of studying from black and white pages. Using Flashcards and Illustrative Diagrams: Flashcards are also really useful for revision resource and it comes in handy around exam time. Addition of colourful drawings, using more flowcharts and writing with different coloured pens helps students to memorize and remember concepts more vividly. If a student uses diagrammatic representations to learn a new concept, it helps them understand the subject better and expand their knowledge. . If such techniques are applied then, even the subjects which seem dull can be made interesting and enjoyable. A positive attitude along with a little more concentration can do wonders and that will surely be reflected in the results.

Future Goals are the building blocks of a child`s future. Every student should have the motivation and determination to achieve the predetermined goals within a given time. Parents and teachers have a huge role to play in guiding the students to explore their potentials and identify their goals. The benefit of a long-term goal is to set appropriate benchmarks, whereas short term goals make a student more disciplined.  Benefits of setting goals: Responsibility: A student becomes more responsible and takes charge of their success or failure Time management: Kids learn how to manage their time to meet their goals. Self Confidence: Achievements builds their self esteem which molds them as strong human beings. Resilience: Kids learn to cope with the minor and major setbacks, which makes more determined. Perseverance: They learn to keep on trying and working hard until they meet their goals. Different ways to guide kids to set their goals: Vision: Drawing a picture of what one wants to achieve in life is called a vision. Working hard each day to fulfill that mission is called an achievement. Kids should be encouraged to write down their short term and long term goals which would motivate them to work harder and better each day. Identifying a set of goals is an eye opening experience for the kids, and it rekindles a sense of enthusiasm in them. Planning: A vision must be fragmented and achieved in bits and pieces. Goals are not achieved immediately, they are done in phases. A student must be patient and consistently work towards achieving that goal. Measuring Progress: Keeping tabs of one`s progress is absolutely necessary to get an estimate of one`s position. Parents and teachers should make students think in a realistic way and try to confront their unrealistic goals. Kids should have the ability to understand that which plan is working out and which is not; they shouldn`t be doomed by failures nor be over exhilarated with success. Proper balance in life and emotions is the key to achievement. Setting specific Goals: A good goal is a specific goal. Being totally focused in one direction is extremely important as it would help the student to achieve their goals and dreams faster. Students often tend to generalize their dreams, but it is the duty of the parents and teachers to educate them in choosing smart specific goals, one at a time. Family support: When families understand a child`s goals, they learn to support each other. This fosters a family environment based on cooperation instead of hostility. It reinforces the idea that although all people are individuals with their own unique interests, a family can work together and provide support and help to each other when needed.   It is never too early to start setting goals. Thus, kids should be taught to make a note of their goals and make an effort each day, to achieve their dreams. Goals help kids to build resilience and cope with setbacks and mold them into powerful and disciplined leaders.

Teaching kids is one of the most delicate and challenging jobs as there is no fool-proof way on how to teach kids.  To instill the right amount of knowledge and skill without making them lose interest in studies is a hard task and can get very difficult at times. But there are various methods and techniques that can be used to make a child learn faster. According to studies, it has been found that, there are Seven Different Learning Styles that help a kid to learn and understand better, they are:- Visual (Spatial) Learning Style: Spatial or Visual Learners are taught through pictures, icons, charts, diagrams, and color coded information.  On teaching any academic subject, kids must research topics using graphics and compile their findings into a poster.  Visual learners can also retain more information as they use different colored pens, pencils, markers, labels, and sticky notes, which help them, remember in a better way. Aural (Auditory) Learning Style: Auditory or Aural Learners thrive on teaching techniques that involve sound.  Making up a story or a song or a rhyme with the directions of the main concepts of the lesson helps children to learn much faster. For younger children, oral storytelling and sing-along, making up poems or songs help them to teach important lessons. Verbal (Linguistic) Learning Style: Linguistic or Verbal Learners use words and texts to memorize concepts. Copying down phrases and words, taking their own notes during lectures, reading out loud, listening to audio recordings, and discussions are effective teaching methods and techniques for this type of learners.  Spellings are taught by having them write out the word correctly, multiple number of times. Writing helps the brain to retain information ten times more, than just reading or visualizing. Physical (Kinesthetic) Learning Style: Physical or kinesthetic Learners learn through creating. Kids learn better if they are encouraged to create and built their own imagination and experience, no matter what they are learning. Sports, Technology, Trips, Games are also effective teaching methods for physical learners. Children must be motivated to learn from their mistakes and failed attempts and rectify it in their next approach. Logical (Mathematical) Learning Style: Logical or Mathematical Learners use problem solving as a way to learn new materials. They excel at following complicated directions and using technology and games to reach learning outcomes. They can be taught in a more efficient way about technology and must be given special attention. Logical Learners often go for Engineering, Mathematics or in some Research Fields as these professional fields typically follow logical rules. Social (Interpersonal) learning Style: Social or Interpersonal Learners thrive on interpersonal communications and learn best in a group atmosphere. These types of learners can be taught by Group Discussions, Sports, Social Activities, Discussions and by all other activities where group of person participate. Solitary (Intrapersonal) Learning Style: Solitary or Intrapersonal Learners are self-paced learners. They rely on online communities and enjoy watching how-to-videos and reading to learn new things. They should not be pushed or forced to do stuff, instead they should be allowed to work and learn at their own pace. It is not at all necessary that only one of the seven teaching styles be used, these methods must be blended and used to educate a child and expand their knowledge in a much simpler way and in a lesser time. A number of different teaching techniques have emerged due to change in education over the years. Many of these teaching techniques are not actually new; rather they have been modified for better and faster learning. Thus, new facilities and modern equipments are encouraged along with traditional old methods to bring out an effective way, for better understanding for the kids.

“The Birds & The Bees Talk” in general it is that talk in which Parents explain & talk about Sexual relationship to their kids. People say, “Charity begins at home”. But basically, every good thing or beginning step of any education begins at home. This is because what we learn from home generally stays with us for long and it gets embedded within our souls. We try to follow it unknowingly. Sex education is not an exception in this case. Parents Dos and Don’ts on Sex Education: Indian parents are usually very judgmental of what should be discussed at home and what should be kept under covers. But can we really segregate that these are the things we should discuss at home and these are the things that we should refrain from? Well, right and wrong are basically relative terms.  But of course the parents are somebody to decide what their children should know at what point of time. Indian Social Norms on Sex Education: In today’s world, with the increasing use of internet, it has become extremely difficult and sometimes impossible for the parents to monitor what their child is growing with each and every day. India is definitely one of those lands which run on the basis of Pre-conceived notions when it comes to the society. What the society will think of ourselves is more important to us than what we want ourselves to be and this malicious choice of priorities has casted its evil shadow not only on The Birds and The Bees Talk, but also on the ambitions of the youngsters. Sex & Education: A Natural Process : Diffusion, osmosis and photosynthesis are perhaps the most fundamental concepts that we have gained from our Biology books. But why should we learn about these natural processes if we are not allowed to learn about sex which is also the most fundamental natural phenomenon.Without sex, life would have been impossible on earth.Yet in today’s 21st century, Indian parents fail to understand the significance of sex education.Learning something from textbook and reference articles is very different from learning through discussions. Discussions are always more helpful than any kind of reading-writing procedure and if we have the same discussion with our family members then I can challenge that things will be more easy to understand and we will surely have a different kind of comfort level with each of our family members. Parent’s Thoughts on Sex Education: Whenever the word sex is uttered most of the people develop a sense of dirty feeling within their minds. What they fail to realize is that it’s the very cause of their own existence. A magazine displaying condom advertisement on its back cover is hidden away by the elders of the so-called cultured families. They tend to restrict each and every child of the family to keep away from such advertisements.Instead of doing such kind of meaningless activities if a person sits and talks with his or her daughter or son about the protective measures of a healthy sexual life then perhaps the society can become a better place to live in. Request to Parents on The Birds & The Bees Talk: It’s an earnest request to each of the parents round the world on my behalf—please allow your child to know the truth of his or her existence. With the accelerating curve of child sexual abuse, it is very important for each of the young hearts of the world to become cautious and aware of the surroundings. And if something unfortunate happens, your children must have a comfort level to share his or her dreadful experience with you. This can only be achieved through normal conversations on The Birds and The Bees—through words, through gestures or through games.

Play Schools are known by Pre-primary School, Pre-School, Nursery School or Kindergarten. All these are designed to offer Early Childhood Education (ECE) to children for kids between the age group of 2½ to 5 years. A Play school is a place where around 10-20 children spend a few hours regularly under the supervision of trained teachers and professionals. The curriculum does not aim at developing academic skills; it only focuses on social development and character building of a child. At this phase a child is very observant, and hence they can learn things just by imitating and following instructions. There are no rules or goals as such and there is no pressure imposed upon children, the kids are handled patiently and allowed to learn at their own pace. Objective of a Play School: Children are not born with skills, they have to develop them. This is where the play school steps in to not only help the children but also provide support to their parents. The parents have a chance to observe their own child and the other toddlers and get a reference for judging their own child’s behavior. Play schools offer an external support system to the parents, where they also get an opportunity to interact with other parents and keep in touch with different approaches to parenting. Parents can easily access the trained supervisors for advice if they are facing any problems with their child at home. Apart from widening parenting horizons, play schools offer a lot for an all round development of a child. Benefits of a Play School: Pre-Schools provide different facilities under one roof like Learning Toys, Puzzles and technology based Toys, different types of learning activities & many more facilities. All these activities are done by kids under proper guidance so that it becomes a learning experience. When a child plays with a doll and dresses it up and feeds it, the teachers aim to transfer their behaviors into their own lives. This way a child will eventually learn to feed and bathe themselves. Nursery Schools also teach children to recognize their own possessions. A child learns to take care of their own belongings and not misplace them time and again. A child’s language skills also develop faster as they interact with many children of their own age and learn to connect better. Play Schools prepare children for their smooth entry into formal school as they help to minimize separation anxiety. They prepare children to face the world, as they are more self-confident and independent also they have improved interpersonal skills and better capabilities.
